Sauvage Elixir is Dior's concentrated take on the line, released in 2021 as an Elixir and composed by François Demachy. Spicy and woody are the words almost everyone uses, with a third also calling it aromatic, ambery or citrus. It is a masculine fragrance.

It opens on spice rather than freshness: nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom with grapefruit cutting through to keep it bright. The heart is a single lavender note, herbal and slightly soapy, which ties it to the aromatic tradition. The base is deep and dense, with sandalwood, patchouli and Haitian vetiver forming a dry woody floor, amber adding warmth and liquorice giving a dark, sweet, root-like twist.

People report it as eternal in longevity more often than not, and the sillage is strong for about half and enormous for a third, so one or two sprays go a long way. Winter and autumn are the clear seasons, and it is voted mostly for night. It suits cold evenings and anyone who wants a spicy wood with real presence.
