Darling Rouge is a rose amber by Gabriel Gabor for De Gabor, released in 2022 and worn by anyone. Floral is how everyone describes it, most also find it ambery, about half woody, resinous or citrusy, and a quarter musky.
Bergamot and lemon open with a clean, sharp citrus that keeps the rose from arriving too heavily. The heart is rose in two forms, Turkish and French, the first deep and jammy, the second lighter and more petal-like, with other floral notes filling in around them. Frankincense adds a dry, lemony smoke, and labdanum with amber brings a thick, warm, resinous sweetness. Vanilla softens the base, sandalwood and vetiver give it wood, and ambergris with musk a salty, skin-like finish.
Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported, though amber and resin bases of this kind are usually persistent. It suits cooler weather and evenings, for someone who likes rose warm and incensed.
