Chloé Eau de Parfum, released in 2008 and composed by Michel Almairac and Amandine Clerc-Marie, is a rose scent through and through: floral for everyone who describes it, with woody and amber touches mentioned only by a minority.
It opens with freesia and peony brightened by litchi, a dewy, slightly fruity start. The heart is a fresh rose with magnolia and lily of the valley, clean and a little powdery rather than jammy or dark. The base is restrained, Virginia cedar for a dry, pencil-shaving woodiness and a soft amber warmth that keeps the flowers from floating away.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a third find it long lasting, while most call the projection moderate. It is voted for spring and summer and very strongly for daytime. It suits someone who wants an easy, fresh, powdery rose for the office or a spring afternoon.
