Adhara Oud, released by the French house Cherigan in 2021, is a rose-and-oud fragrance in the classic sense: everyone who describes it calls it both woody and floral, and about half add spicy, leathery or citrus. It is worn by anyone.
The structure is familiar but clearly drawn. Citrus notes lift the opening so the rose does not arrive too heavy. Rose itself is the heart, with geranium beside it adding a greener, slightly minty rosiness. Saffron brings the spice, dry and leathery, and bridges into a base where oud, patchouli and leather provide dark, earthy, smoky depth.
No wearers have yet reported how long it lasts or how far it projects. This kind of composition is generally most comfortable in autumn and winter and after dark, and it suits someone who wants an oud with a recognisable rose in it rather than a purely woody one.
