It opens with caraway and saffron, an unusual pairing that feels dry, slightly bready and spicy rather than fresh. The heart is a dense block of woods: patchouli, guaiac, sandalwood and Virginia cedar, with violet adding a cool, powdery softness. In the base, labdanum and amber give a resinous warmth, oud and nagarmotha add a darker, smoky depth, and leather and tonka bean round it into something smooth, supple and faintly sweet.
