Velvet Morganite, a 2024 release from the Turkish house Attar Al Has, is a creamy floral gourmand worn by anyone. Floral is the unanimous description, most wearers also find it sweet, about two-fifths woody, and a minority notice musk, amber or citrus.
Orange and peach give the opening a soft, juicy fruitiness. The floral heart is wide: rose and freesia for freshness, lily of the valley for a green, dewy lift, osmanthus for an apricot-like warmth, and iris for a fine powder. The sweetness comes from coconut and praline, the coconut creamy and the praline nutty and caramel-like, with vanilla joining them in the base. Sandalwood and cedar give the wood, amber and musk a warm, skin-like finish.
Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported. The coconut, praline and vanilla suggest cooler weather and evenings, while the fruit and fresh flowers keep it wearable on a mild spring day.
