Rose in Wonderland by Atkinsons, the British house, is a rose set in amber, released in 2014. Everyone who describes it calls it both floral and ambery; about half also find it gourmand, green and woody.

Blackcurrant buds and leaf open it with a sharp, green, slightly catty tang that gives the rose a tart frame. The rose itself is full and warm in the heart, with geranium adding a greener, more peppery rosiness alongside it. As it settles, amber and the softer crystal amber take over, bringing a sweet, resinous glow that is responsible for the gourmand impression; vetiver in the base adds a dry, rooty earthiness that stops the amber from becoming syrupy.

It is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. The warm amber base suggests autumn and winter, while the green currant opening keeps it lively enough for daytime; people who find most rose scents either too soapy or too jammy may like the green-and-amber balance here.
