Shades by Armaf is a woody fragrance for men. Everyone who has described it calls it woody; about half also find it sweet, musky, floral, aromatic and citrusy, which suggests a scent that balances several moods rather than committing to one.

Bergamot, lime and pineapple start it off, a sharp citrus with a juicy, tropical sweetness. Cardamom, rosemary and sage add a cool, herbal spice, and violet leaf a green, slightly metallic freshness. Jasmine and geranium sit in the heart, soft and faintly rosy, with plum adding a dark fruit note. Cedar, cedar needles and sandalwood make up the woody base, dry and resinous, with patchouli for earth and white musk and ambergris for a clean, salty warmth.

No wear reports are available yet. The fresh opening and woody base suggest a scent for spring and autumn daytime, for someone who wants a modern, fruity-woody style without heavy sweetness.
