Grapefruit gives a short, bright, slightly bitter opening, quickly warmed by black pepper, cinnamon and saffron, which bring dry heat, sweet spice and a leathery, honeyed tone. The heart is Turkish rose, deep and velvety, a classic partner for oud. In the base, agarwood adds its dark, resinous, slightly animalic woodiness, patchouli an earthy depth, and vanilla a smooth sweetness that softens the darker materials.
