Safariyah

Safariyah, composed by Delphine Thierry for the Norwegian house Malbrum Parfums in 2016, is a gourmand fragrance by every account, with about two thirds of wearers also calling it floral. A third find it woody, musky or citrusy. It is a milky, tropical fruit scent rather than a sugary one.

It opens with mango, litchi and tangerine alongside a blend of tropical fruits, a juicy, sweet, slightly tangy start. The heart is where it becomes distinctive: milk gives a soft, creamy, lactonic smoothness, magnolia adds a fresh, lemony white-flower note and neroli a clean, honeyed orange-blossom brightness. The base is simple and warm, sandalwood adding a creamy, sweet wood and musk a soft, skin-like finish that keeps the fruit close and comfortable.

Safariyah is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. Tropical fruit and milk suit warm weather and daytime wear, and it should appeal to people who like fruity scents that feel creamy and gentle rather than sharp or candied.
