Raku

Raku, composed by Jérôme Epinette for Les Bains Guerbois in 2023, is described by everyone who rates it as spicy, green, woody and musky at once, with about half also finding it ambered and citrusy. The notes point to a dry, mineral, pepper-and-cedar scent with a soft musky finish.

Lemon and black pepper open it, a bright citrus against a dry, sharp heat. Clary sage adds a herbal, slightly tea-like greenness, and fig brings a green, milky softness that sits between leaf and fruit. Texas cedar and cedar build a clean, pencil-shaving wood base, and Ambroxan adds a smooth, salty, ambergris-like warmth that makes it feel more expansive. White musk and musk round it off close to the skin.
