Signature

Signature by Baldessarini, released in 2020, is a woody scent first and foremost, with smaller resinous, leathery, ambery and lightly sweet sides that about a third of wearers pick out. It is sold as a men's fragrance.

The notes are not split into stages, but the shape is easy to read. Bergamot and apple give the first minutes some brightness and a hint of fruit, while pink pepper adds a dry tingle. Underneath sit cypress and fern, which bring a cool, green, slightly bitter woodiness. The lasting part is built from patchouli, akigalawood and cypriol, all earthy and dry, softened by labdanum and amber for warmth and a leather note for a smoky, worn-in finish.

No wear reports have been collected yet, so longevity and projection remain to be seen. The balance of dry woods, resins and leather points towards cooler months and evenings rather than hot days, and suits someone who prefers a composed, slightly rugged scent to anything sweet or loud.
