Nacre Blanche

Nacre Blanche, made by Antonio Alessandria in 2014, is a rich white floral with citrus brightness and a soft leathery base. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, most also notice citrus, about half find it woody, and a minority mention spice, resin and leather.

Grapefruit, bergamot, tangerine and petitgrain give the opening a sparkling, juicy and slightly bitter freshness, with coriander adding a lemony spice. The heart is a creamy white bouquet: tuberose brings a lush, buttery depth, jasmine a sunny radiance, ylang-ylang a custardy sweetness and osmanthus an apricot-like, suede-soft note. The base is warm and smooth, with vanilla and benzoin adding a balsamic sweetness, leather a soft texture, and sandalwood, patchouli and musk a creamy, earthy finish.
