Oud du Jour, or oud of the day, by Amouroud is a 2016 composition by Claude Dir. Wood leads, and spice, sweetness, flowers and amber are each noticed by most people.
The top is bright and warm: saffron gives a golden, leathery spice, raspberry a juicy, tart fruit, and pink pepper a light, rosy sparkle. The heart is floral and smoky, with rose for a velvety bloom, lily of the valley for a dewy freshness, incense for a soft smoke, and dried plum for a dark, jammy sweetness. The base is woody and warm, with agarwood for a dry, smoky oud, guaiac wood for a gentle smoke, patchouli for earthiness and black amber for a deep glow.
As the name suggests, this is an oud meant to be wearable by day. It is shared and suits anyone, and works in autumn, winter and spring, for people who like fruity rose-oud blends.
