Blu Oud

Blu Oud from Ahmed Al Maghribi, released in 2024 and worn by anyone, is first and foremost a woody fragrance: everyone who describes it says so, while smaller groups notice musky, floral, ambery, leathery and citrus sides. The oud here is framed by fresher, greener notes rather than by heavy sweetness.

Bergamot gives the opening a brief citrus brightness, and violet leaf adds a cool, green, slightly metallic freshness. Geranium brings a rosy, herbal quality that sits well with both. Then the woods take over: agarwood, or oud, is dark and resinous, cypress adds a clean, forest-like greenness, guaiac wood a smoky smoothness, and patchouli a dry, earthy depth. Incense contributes a thin trail of smoke, leather a dry, slightly animalic edge, and musk softens the whole base.
